Get to know the royal stone that is SAPPHIRE.
Name: Sapphire (in our case, Blue Sapphire)
Origin: This precious stone was prized by the Ancient Romans, Greek, and Egyptians and was also used by the Etruscans (a wealthy ancient Italian civilization) more than 2000 years ago.
Interesting fact: Sapphire is one of the most popular gemstones and has been seen as a stone of royalty, and interestingly enough, a sapphire is also a type of hummingbird with similar tones to the gemstone.
Found: This precious stone can be found in India, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Thailand, Madagascar, Tanzania, Pakistan, Afghanistan, East Africa, and Australia. Certain types of sapphires have also been found in Montana, USA.
Core Message: Awareness, Discipline, Wisdom, Communication.
Colour: Most commonly thought of as dark blue, Sapphire can also be seen in a variety of shades and colours, including: blue, violet, pink, green, black, yellow, and orange.
Birthstone: Sapphire is the birthstone for those born in the month of September or in Virgo // 22 of August – 22 of September.
