VG Love List – May
June is here and we’ve put together another love list of things we LOVED in May (if you haven’t yet read April’s love list click here!). We are so enjoying putting together these lists for you at the end of each month and will continue to do so. It is an opportunity for us as a team to reflect, to be grateful for the journey travelled and in addition to our newsletter, this is also a chance to offer you guys a behind-the-scenes look at what’s happening here at Violet Gray.
Since life can be FULL we find that putting together these lists is a simple yet beautiful way to get PRESENT and honour the ebbs and flows.
Reading: I’ve just begun ‘Rushing Woman’s Syndrome’ by Dr Libby Weaver. Truth be told, with the change of seasons – cosy nights on the couch watching netflix has been taking priority over reading, but I (Alex) am looking forward to delving back into the pages.
Listening to: Another new playlist with songs we’ve been vibing on during May. It is mixed, random, some songs from our ceremonies last month. I hope your ears will like!
Crystal we are loving: Amethyst – Deep breath. Ahhh… inner peace. We find ourselves wanting to be more quiet and introspecive. Amethyst is the perfect stone for this purpose. We are getting really clear on the life WE want to live – to what serves us best, no matter what others may think. Discovering what’s important and going forth, heart first. Always.
Quote that stuck with us:
In the song “Hallelujah,” Leonard Cohen writes, “Love is not a victory march, it’s a cold and it’s a broken hallelujah.” Love is a form of vulnerability and if you replace the word love with vulnerability in that line, it’s just as true. From calling a friend who’s experienced a terrible tragedy to starting your own business, from feeling terrified to experiencing liberation, vulnerability is life’s great dare. It’s life asking, “Are you all in? Can you value your own vulnerability as much as you value it in others?” Answering yes to these questions is not weakness: It’s courage beyond measure. It’s daring greatly.
~ Brené Brown, Daring Greatly (Page 43).
Favorite Ritual: Taking some time to be with ourselves in stillness. We love sitting in silence for a few minutes or popping in a meditation such as the recently launched Chakra Meditation (free when signing up for our newsletter!) to help us get centered and present.
Most loved VG jewellery this month: You all have been loving the “Solar Plexus Chakra” – so much so that the 9kt solid gold necklace SOLD OUT in our first week back online (don’t worry, it will be back and available next week).
Manipura is the perfect reminder for you to stand in your power. Remember, strength doesn’t need to come from a loud voice.
Excited for: We launched our “Looking Through the Lens” series on our blog where we dive deep with women that embody the Violet Gray vibe – women that are authentic and real. Our 1st interview is with the sensual Juliet Allen. More insightful and inspiring interviews are coming up.
We have 2 x circles next month in Byron Bay. One has already SOLD OUT, but there are still a few spots left for the Sunday circle. These Violet Gray experiences are now limited as Alex has decided to put a pause on them for now. Jump in if you can, otherwise we meet once more this year – in September, in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
Alex is headed to Japan for some fun travels (and to develop some Violet Gray goodies) and after that to India as well. We also have some exciting product launches coming up and we are surrendering to the time it takes to do this ‘right’. We cannot wait to share our creations, stay tuned!
What’s made your heart skip a beat this month?
