THE STORY

The Serpentine Piercing Earring is shaped in sterling silver, its form softly curved ~ a quiet homage to movement and transformation.

Designed for longevity and ease, it rests comfortably against the skin, light yet intentional. Worn as protection, or simply as a reminder of cyclical change.

Internally threaded flat-back closure for healed lobe, helix or cartilage piercings. This listing is for a single earring, but you can purchase two as a pair.

To note: all photos show the gold version, this will be updated when the stock arrives in November.

*Complimentary tapered piercing pole with your first piercing earring order. This does not pierce your ear, it simply makes it really easy to get your flat back studs into an existing hole. Read about how it works HERE

Material & Craft

Sterling Silver

Silver has been the material of fine jewellery for centuries, and for good reason. Cool, bright and effortlessly versatile, sterling silver sits beautifully against every skin tone and pairs naturally with both casual and dressed occasions.

We work with 925 sterling silver, which is 92.5% pure silver, the benchmark for quality. Each piece is finished by trusted offshore suppliers, bringing the same attention to craft and detail that runs through everything we make. Silver develops a gentle patina over time that only adds to its character, and it is easily restored with a soft polish whenever you choose.

  • Metal Purity 925 Sterling Silver · 92.5% pure silver
  • Longevity Lifelong with simple care
  • CARE Polish with a soft cloth to restore shine

Common Questions

Still have a question not answered here? Get in touch, we respond within one business day.

A flat-back stud is designed for comfort. It features a smooth backing that sits flush against the skin to minimise catching on hair, clothing, or while sleeping. It uses an internally threaded post where the front screws securely into place for a refined everyday fit. It is literally 'set and forget'. A regular stud uses a traditional butterfly backing. This style is familiar and easy to wear, though it is typically less secure and more prone to movement.

With regular wear, all threaded jewellery can gradually loosen through daily movement. We recommend gently checking and tightening your piece from time to time, particularly after sleeping, swimming, or washing your hair. If anything doesn't feel quite right, we're always here to help.

Post length depends on your anatomy, the placement of your piercing, and whether it is fully healed. A closer fit offers a more refined look, while a slightly longer post allows room for swelling or sensitivity. Here is a quick guide, but if you're ever unsure, we're happy to help you choose the most comfortable option.

5 mm: A close, refined fit ideal for thin lobes, upper lobes, or forward helix piercings where minimal post length creates a seamless look.
6 mm: The most universal length, suited to standard lobe and helix piercings for everyday comfort.
8 mm: Offers extra space and flexibility for thicker lobes, conch, or cartilage placements, allowing for natural swelling or movement.

Recommendations for healed piercings:
Lobe: 6 to 7mm
Upper Lobe: 5 to 6.5mm
Low Helix: 5 to 6mm
Helix: 5 to 6mm
Forward Helix: 5 to 7mm
Rook: 5 to 6.5mm
Tragus and Conch: 5 to 6.5mm

Yes, our posts are designed to be interchangeable. You can adjust between lengths to suit your comfort, your anatomy, or as your piercing heals and settles.

We highly recommend following your piercer's guidance and allowing your piercing to fully heal before changing jewellery. Our pieces are best suited once the initial swelling has subsided and the skin has completely stabilised.

Yes, flat-back studs are specifically designed for continuous wear, including sleep. It is a major bonus. The low-profile backing sits gently against the skin, which significantly reduces pressure and irritation.
